2017 Grant Applications Awarded

Established in 1998, The Wildcat Foundation has awarded grants to the Mechanicsburg Area School District since 2001. To date, we have invested nearly $700,000 in grant support. In addition, the Foundation has provided capital support for the Trails and Trees Environmental Center and the turf field at John Fredrickson Field, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park. We also provide scholarship funding with investments made by the Mechanicsburg Club, and financial support through sponsorships, ads and underwriting for school and community groups alike.

This year, the Foundation received 49 grant request.  A volunteer review board evaluated and recommended funding, in full or in part, for 37 programs and projects.

Mowery Brothers Remembered...

The Mowery Family

The widows, children and extended family members of the three Mowery brothers (Harold, Richard and Donald) gathered on November 21 to dedicate benches purchased in their memory. Mrs. Phyllis Mowery's contribution to the Wildcat Foundation allowed for the purchase of two benches, placed in front of the High School as a practical memorial to the brothers who were active in school in the 1940s and '50s and who left lasting marks on the Greater Mechanicsburg Area and the Commonwealth.  The remainder of Mrs. Mowery's gift is designated to provide support to athletics through the Wildcat Foundation.
